NUNN - HAROLD “AMOS” Edward, born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on Octo- ber 4, 1906, passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord on December 1, 1991, aged 85. A resident of North Saanich since 1913, he was well known and respect- ed for his involvement in many sports - softball, lacrosse, soccer, fishing and hunting, and was associated with the North Saanich Service Club. : His first job was laying the East Saanich Rd. with cement. (This was the main road to Victoria at the time). He later worked at the Sidney Saw Mill (then at the foot of Beacon) for several years, and became well known in his trade as an expert cement finisher and a construction foreman. He served in the Provost Corp during World War II and was a member of the Legion #37. He was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church, serving as a Deacon for many years. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, May; children Dorothy (Hugh) Wallis, Joyce (Stan) Kayser, Jim (Mari- on) Nunn; 9 grandchildren; brothers Victor, Frank, ©.R. ‘Bud’; sister Flory Gardner; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. : The funeral service was held on Wednesday, December 4, 1991, at Bethel Fellowship Baptist Church.
