Playing at Juan de Fuca May 5, the Warriors slipped to their first defeat of the season on an 11-10 scoreline after a poor defensive game. The offence was still on their game with a hat-trick from Mark Wildy, two apiece for Clayton Mitchell and Paul Reese and one goal each for Brian Tulloch, Dean Reeve and Colin Stevenson. Hoping to bounce back in a home match against the “A2’ Tima Zahar TODAY'S | REAL ESTATE ranked Saanich Midgets, Peninsula Warriors outplayed their rivals for much of the game but found Saanich’s hot goaltender an obsta- cle too many. Clayton Mitchell with three goals, Paul Reese with two and Paul Tulloch with three assists turned in strong performances to keep the Warriors in the game right down to the wire. Tom Kinnear and Leslie Tom also got on the scoresheet and, despite losing out in the last few minutes, the Warriors still showed enough form to suggest that with tighter defence, they'll be a force throughout the season. Agione Davidsen SELLING TOOLS THAT GET ACTION After a month of trying to sell “By Owner” you've listed your home with a Realtor. You begin to notice that your agent doesn’t seem to be marketing your home the same way you did. While you had classified ads every weekend, she’s only advertised twice all month. At the same time, however, you do notice there is a lot more activity than you were able to generate on your own. When your home is being marketed professionally, your Realtor will have many powerful selling tools not available to “By Owners”. We have national and worldwide referral networks and the Multiple Listing Service. In addition, we have other homes similar to yours, and every time we advertise one of them, it may bring in the call from the people who will buy your home. Finally, we work cooperatively with other area brokers, sharing information and selling each other’s listings. This way, when you list with one broker, it gives you access to hundreds of agents’ buyer backlog lists. We use all of these tools to market our listings aggressively — and to get sales action! Saanich runners track gold The Grade 7 girls from North Saanich Middle School won their 4 X 100-m relay in the All-School Relays at Centennial Stadium on Thursday. Samantha Milne, Eryn Ward, Becky Herbert and Carly Hal- penny faced stiff opposition as they hung on for gold in the finishing straight. In the 100-m sprint, Michael Stuetzel and Eryn Ward took first and second place respectively, with David Warren and Carly Hal- penny taking fourth and fifth places. Grade 6 North Saanich student Matthew Baker held a comfortable Jead throughout to win the 800-m while Luc Beyers won his heat and finished a creditable fifth. The Grade 7 boys 4 X 100-m relay team of Stuetzel, Warren, Keith Shade and Darryl Chong advanced through the heats and placed fourth in their final. Grade 8 students are competing in the Vancouver Island Junior Secondary School Championships meet in Courtenay on Thursday. Ben Nelson competes in the shot putt, Carly Halpenny in the high jump and Paul Friedmeyer in the 1,500-m. Hoping to emulate the Grade 7 girls’ success in the relay, this time in the 4 X 400-m, is the team of Jens Jakobsen, Cam Inouye, Craig Evans and Paul Friedmeyer. On June 5, North Saanich will have their last meet of the season against Royal Oak and Mount Newton in the Middle School Track Meet at Parkland. SELLING? Call the Realtor that Listens!
