Although the young squad lost all three of their games at the Sun Devils’ tournament, they show- cased their tough competive spirit, coach Roger Pires said Monday. In their first game, Parkland lost 72-43 to Haitzic. Janelle Cassidy had an impres- sive 14-point game, Pires said. In the second game pitted against South Delta, the team played to a capacity crowd but lost a close 44-39 game against the home team. Cassidy had another 14-point performance and Kim Painter showcased her offensive talent with 11 points in the game. In the third game, for seventh and eighth place, Parkland were in action against North Delta but were bounced 78-45. : Jodi Gerich managed a 10-point game, Cassidy came on strong with 11 and Painter scored 10 points.
