News Daly ‘dismally impressed’ with neglect by Paul Wyke The Review Charming Sidney by the Sea isn’t so charming according to a report by Coun. Ted Daly. A list of 32 properties — four in Grove Crescent and two on Ardwell Avenue that are ““particu- larly offensive” — are breaking bylaws and not being maintained properly, Daly said. On a Sunday afternoon drive through Sidney, the Town council- lor made a list of properties that arent adhering to municipal bylaws. “1 discovered a distally impressive list of houses with multiple unlicensed vehicles in their front yards, side yards and in many Cases on municipal boule- vards and easements,” he said. Daly also cited in his report the problem of recreational vehicles, car parts and “much bric a brac,” causing eyesores in the Town of Sidney. The report suggested that coun- cil consider the use of land at Sidney's works yard to provide storage for recreational and unli- censed vehicles. “Tam concerned about the long- range effect if we allow the current situation to continue. Good exam= ples of this are Grove Crescent and the 2000-block of Ardwell Ave- ue,” Daly told council in com- mittee on Dec. 7.
