THE SUBJECT AREA:
The application affects the property, ‘within: the City of

THE INTENT: .

The intent of this zoning amendment application is

to change the Zoning of the subject property from
Rural (A1) to Residential District - one family
dwelling (Ri1). |

THE PROPOSED AMENDMENT BY-LAW MAY BE

INSPECTED in the. reception area at the City of Terrace
Public Works Building at 5003 Graham Avenue, Terrace,
B.C. between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., @ach
day from Tuesday, April 14, 1992 to Monday, May 25,

1992, inclusive with the exception of Saturdays, Sun- -

Cowman said the nomination process" fis. an

- onerous one for the candidate, requiring the. sub-

mission of a 65-page questionnaire along with. a
personal resume for clearance by both the local-party

executive and the Calgary-based national executive.
‘The questionnaire, he said, not only gives the- execu"

tives detailed information upon which to base‘their
decision to approve or reject the candidate, but also
gives, the candidates occasion to. think- about: their

__. backgrounds and suitability for political office. :

The entire process takes about 25 weeks, havsaid.
"We want to know we're getting the best: possible
candidate.”

He also noted that the party, which tends like :
other new movements to attract fanatics,. Wants’ ‘to
weed ott extremists before they get a platform
within the party. "The key is, we want, reform-
minded achievers who are not in it for personal
gain," Cowman said.

During.a recent tour of the Northwest: Werner.
Schmidt, a founding member of the Reform Party.
and its candidate for Okanagan Centre, said: he !
thinks Skeena MP Jim’ Fulton can be beaten in the :
next election by a Reform candidate. He said he had :
seen "some very strong candidates" in the riding.

Schmidt believes the Reform Party will capture
several western Canada seats in the next, federal
election.
