City Clerk re abandonment of proposal for road closure— Wellington St. S. of Coq.Ave. February 21st, 1977 Township 40, Plan 44809, New Westminster District, being 2986 Coast Meridian Road, Port Coquitlam, B.C. is owned by Westgate Enterprises Led.; AND WHEREAS there is an accumulation of £ilth, discarded materials and rubbish upon the said property; AND WHEREAS the Twenty-one (21) day notice required by Section 5 of the "City of Port Coquitlam Prohibition of Untidy or Unsightly Property By-law, 1971, No. 1103" has been given and there has been no response thereto; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Senior By-law Enforcement Officer of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam, Mr. R.G. Criggie, be and he is hereby authorized to see to the removal of filth, discarded materials or rubbish, either by City workmen or by others, to enter upon such property for the purpose aforesaid, and to effect such removal at the expense of Westgate Enterprises Ltd. During discussion of the foregoing resolution, Alderman Mabbett suggested that as the City crews are very busy, tenders should be called for the demolition and cleaning up of the property at an early date and further suggested that the Senior By-law Enforcement Officer see the City Engineer in this regard. From the City Clerk, February 16th, 1977, regarding the proposed road closure of Wellington Street, South of Coquitlam Avenue and advising that two of the three necessary consents appear, at the present time, to be unattainable, and suggesting that, in view of the fact that there are no extenuating circumstances on which to base a request for special consideration from the Department of Municipal Affairs, the matter not be further pursue at this time. Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Thompson: That the proposed closure of a small portion of Wellington Street between Coquitlam Avenue and Suffolk Avenue, approved by resolution of this Council on November 10th, 1975, be abandoned in view of the necessary consents to the closure not being obtained.
