PORT COQUITLAM FIRE/RESCUE November 13, 1992 The Fire Department is a public service arm of the City of Port Coquitlam. The Fire Department has 59 members: 2 senior staff, 2 office staff, 2 Fire Prevention Officers, one Training Officer, fifty-two Fire Officers and Fire Fighters. The Fire Department responded to 1,800 Fire, Medical, Hazardous Materials calls in the last 12 months. The Fire Department is dedicated to provide: 1) 2) support and protection during emergencies and disasters either man- made or natural. the extinguishment of fires and reduction of property loss. assistance to the public on medical emergencies and vehicle accidents. fire safety and Bylaw inspections on all commercial & industrial properties. participation in health, trade, and fire safety fairs. fire safety programs and puppet shows to approximately 5,000 preschool and elementary children. counselling programs to juvenile fire setters and their families.
