Kelowna was the site for the Spring Conference on Health and Safety, which drew over fifty delegates, safety di- rectors and officers. The two-day Conference combined an examination of reports from the IWA safety directors throughout B.C. and a comprehensive report from the Regional office covering Accident Prevention and Health protection attitudes in- volved in the IWA program. The Regional Director, pointed to the comparative statement covering fatalities in the wood products industry in the several western Provinces, (displayed else- where) and scored the ap- parent swing in attitudes away from the fundamental objec- tives of the IWA program of accident prevention and health protection.
