RECOMMENDATION: The Economic Development Committee

recommend to City Council that
authorization be given to retain a
consultant to prepare a marketing plan for
the City.

AND THAT a budget of $10,000 be approved
for this project.

Background:

This project was previously submitted te Counci! for
approval as @ joint project with the District of Coquitlam and
provincial Ministry of Economic Development. The District have
subsequently decided to decline participating in this project.
Due to thar, this report is being submitted to City Council! for
approval fo proceed without the District.

Comments:

The project is to refine the City's Economic Development
Strategy, by adding a marketing component. It is proposed to
retain a consultant to prepare a marketing plan repert and
guidelines for advertisements.

This project is funded jointly by the City and Ministry of
Economic Development. Cost to the City will be 50 percent of
the total, a $5,000 cost to the City.
