RECOMMENDATION:

That the City request the District of Coquitlam to provide a \
water service from their main on Lincoln Avenue to addrass 430
Lincoln subject. to satisfactory arrangements for colleantrien and
payment of connection feas and water rates.

‘BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS: °< |
The owner of 430 Lincoln Avenue has recently moved a house to
the site but does not have water sarvice as the Clty has no | |
main on Lincoln Avenue. The District owns a 2" watermaln on
Lincoln which Is fed by a metered water connection from the |
City. The nearest City main Is at the Intersection of Devon: be
Streat and Lincoln Avenue. | | : | | oo a

The owner of 430 Lincoin has three options. He could extend a
new watar malin from Devon Street to his address but this would
‘result in duplicate water mains on the street. He could also.
bring water through an easement across private property from

Laurier Avenue. This Is the option which’ several other ed
spesidents of Lincoln Avenue have taken. This, however, depands Se

on the goodwill of tha nelghbours and Is also quite expensive,
The cheapest option Is simply to get a connection from across
the street from the District main. | |

| | have tatked with the District Engineer and he has no.
' objections to. supplying the water, particularly as we just gave — | ok
one. of thelr rasidents a sewer connection. It would therefore | |
be Tn order fom. tha City to maka application for this |
connection on behalf of our resident. Since tha District = '
cannot charge rates to properties In the City, it would be
“necessary for us to blll the owner for water connection and for. | _ yo
us to pay the District for the connection and annual rates. |. eee
