He stated that Sid. ney had a full representation presen: and that the three resolutions sub: mitted by the Sidney Board of Tradi had been adopted, the gasoline tax, arbitrary rates on lumber, and the prohibition of importing clams in the raw state. The Auto Park and Ferry Whar! committee gave a full report of pro- gress, the completion of the construe: tion of the arch, including the stain- ing of same. The appreciation of the Board for the generous donation ot Mr. Carl Pendray, of shingling sain. was voiced. It is estimated that about six- hundred parties have camped in the Auto Park during the season and many expressions of appreciation of the tourists have been received, of the - arrangements made for their -comfort; plenty of dry wood, a clean camp and fresh water easy ACCceSs- ible being especially noted. It is recognized that some arrangements will have to be made next year to have a caretaken in charge, and a small fee made for the use of the camp, as the work has got beyond the individual efforts of the irein bers of the camp committee. Shade, Mrs. Stanley Brethour and Mrs. J. McLeod, were joint hustesses at a charming garden party and handkerchief shower in honor of Mrs. F. G. Parkes, who is leaving for Port Angeles shortly. The afternoon was interspersed with music rendered by Mrs. Geo. McLean and Mrs. W. Whiting. A competition for the best initial embrodered on a tea cloth, for which two prizes were given, was won by Mrs. W. Whiting, married ladies, and Miss M. Wakefield, sin- gle ladies. The cloth, when finished, is to be presented to Mrs. Parkes as & rememberance of all who were present. A very dainty tea was then served, after which Mrs. Stanley Brethour, in an appropriate speech, expressed her regret at the departure of Mrs. Parkes, her very esteemed friend, in which she was sure all the company joined. Mrs. Parkes suitably re- sponded. Miss Dulcie Brethour and Miss Barbara Parkes then presented Mrs. Parkes with a splendid variety of handkerchiefs, amounting in number ‘o thirty-one, two of which came through the mail from Mrs. Harri- son and Mrs. Mitchell.
