VC 922 was formed carly in. 1954, was stauioned at the Pat Bay Airport, appointment of Alec Davidson as commanding officer, it worked effectively in-its role as a back-up to the Air Branch of the Royal Canadian Navy. Squadron pilots without previ- ous expericnce were trained to “wings” standard anda number of experienced pilots, whose skills were maintained and extended, were recruited into RCAF ranks.
