% cup butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
1 cup sifted all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

% teaspoon salt

% cup milk
1 can of berries (20 oz) or the equivalent in
cooked fresh fruit

Cream butter until soft and smooth. Gradually add 4
cup sugar, creaming until fluffy. Add sifted dry ingredi-
ents alternately with milk, beating until smooth.
