That is how Andreas Boas sces the war memorial: a ‘tribute to the many who dicd, including 94 of his family and friends, inthe First ~ and Second World Wars, “This thing, the Memorial Park, is a treasure, The memorial should slay, forever and ever, to give the people the joy of life. Those who ‘did not come back would want it that way,” says Boas. Since 1951, Boas has devoted countless volunteer hours to the park and to the construction of Sanscha Hall. Yet, in telling the tale, he trics to make light of his contribution. “Tt was really terrific what the people have done all these years.
