He was 71 years of age. Mr. Hamilton had lived in White Rock at his present ad dress for the past four years, although he had resided here }for periods of several years’ duration prior to this. He was a member of Canadian Legion, Branch No. 8. Born in the Isle of Arran Scotland, Mr. Hamilton emi- grated to Canada in 1910 and farmed in Alberta until the commencement of World War I when he joined the 16th Scottish Regiment in Lethbridge and served overseas for four years, He was wounded at Vimy Ridge in 1917 and was hospital- ized in France for a wound of the left thigh Upon his re- lease he was advised to obtain his discharge but Mr. Hamilton refused and in September went back to France only to lose his right arm two months before Armistice, Lengthy hospitalization in several British hospitals follow- ed prior to his return to Canada where he again took up farming in various prairie centres before moving to B.C. in 1920 and tak ing up farming on Roebuck Road in Surrey.
