FUNERAL will be held today at 3 p.m. at Cloverdale United Church for Robert Wilfred Keery, 64, of White Rock, who passed away Sunday at White Rock istrict Hospital, Mr. Keery, a former Surrey Councillor, was a member of a pioneer Surrey family. Surrey pioneer passes here Robert Wilfred Keery, well- known farmer and a former Surrey Counciller, passed away Nov. 16 at White Rock Hospital. A member of a pioneer Sur- rey family, Mr. Keery was born 64 years ago on a Kensington Prairie farm in the Cloverdale district. He was engaged in forming all his life and operat- ed two large vegetable concerns at Kensington Prairie. He also operated a trucking business for several years but disposed of this business re- cently. He resided on D St. at the time of his death Mr. Keery is survived by his wife, Grace, one daughter, Marilyn and one sister, Mrs. G. A Gray of Boston Bar. Funeral service will be held at Cloverdale United Church today at 3 pm. Rev. A. R Laing of White Rock will of- ficiate. Interment will be at!fleck. Surrey Centre. United Church Bazaar Saturday, Dec. 6 Crescent United Church will hold its annual bazaar on Satur- day, Dec. 6 from 2 pm. to 5 pm. in the Church Hall Hostesses will be Mrs, Af- fleck and Mrs. There will be a variety of needle work, novelties, home baking, jam, mince meat, fruit cake and candy. General convenor is Mrs, Ro- bert Smith. The bazaar will be officially opened by Mrs. Af- Robertson. William Ralph Offer, present aldermanic incumbent and member of Surrey Council in |1950-51, will seek re-election on city council at the forthcoming December polls. Mr. Offer, who retired to White Rock in 1944, was a mem- ber of the Incorporation Comi- mitteo and provisional council and was elected for a one-year term as alderman in Septem: ber, 1957. Mr. Offer arrived in Canada in 1900 at the age of 14 and learned the trade of machinist in Eastern Canada. He came west to the prairie provinces in 1904 where he took up railroad construction work as sub-con: tractor and foreman. He came to the Coast in 1907 and was employed as construc- tion foreman at Lake Buntzen for the Vancouver Power Com- pany, now the B.C. Electric.
