Collected during her travels with the International Council of Women; the dolls symbolize Arm- strong’s commitment to a better future for their real life counter- parts. Last weck, Armstrong’ s 20- plus years of work in the women’s movement were recognized with _the presentation of a Persons Award by Gov.-Gen. Jeanne Sauve in Ottawa. The Saanichton resident is one of only six recipients this ycar. “I’m excited about it because it eis the first. one on Vancouver “Island, ” said’ Armstrong.
