Immediately after transplanting fertilize with your regular house- plant mixture, and keep the plant in complete shade for several days until it has had a chance to settle into its new home. A gentleman called to ask if an application of 13-16-10 could have caused his lawn to develop brown patches. With all the rain we’ve had, it doesn’t seem likely, even if the fertilizer was applied unevenly. I'd be inclined to buy a lawn fertilizer with a high first number (nitro- gen) and borrow a fertilizer- spreader to apply it, making sure to turn off the spreader when turning corners. - Water well after applying, or pray for rain.
