MeDaniels, of Seattle, who is purser and part owner of the -essel is a kindly, courteous and effl- & cient young gentieman, who does much to make the traveller on his beat feel comfortable. He saw much ser~’ vice in and around Juneau, Alaska, when he was with the J. S. Smelting, Refining, Mining and Exploration Co. Myr. A. Lestage, who attends to the culinary department, has the knack of appealing very happily to the inner man, and in common with the entire crew is very courte- ’ ous and obliging. The Gleaner’s schedule calls for its leaving Sidney at 9 acm. (new time), arriving at Anacortes at 1.30 p.m. standard time, and leaving at 2 p.m. for Sidney, where she arrives at 6.30 p.m. standard time.
