Percy Lazarz took issue with recent statements by North Saanich Mayor Paul Grieve concerning a proposed satellite fire hall. Mayor Grieve had blasted Central Saanich council for their lack of action on the proposal to combine the Dean . Park area and a portion of Central Saanich into one fire protection enclave. **We had met with the North Saanich fire committee delegation to discuss this,’’ ‘said Ald. A. Gardner of the Society. Although the truck is up for sale, council felt that it could better serve as an artifact. “It would be a useful ad- dition to our artifacts,’’ said Gardner, and informed council that the Society wishes to restore the truck to its original state.
