Mr. Claude Brunelle, capable instructor, reports unusual suc- cess in both Newton and Whitc Rock where he instructs 89 pupils twice weekly in outdoor settings. Mr. Brunelle reports he finds directing children in art work far more rewarding than adult instructing due to the fact that children do not come to classes with their own fixed ideas but are uch more flexible in their altitude towards a scene, Mr. Brunelle finds 80% of the children enrolled are really eager to learn the art of paint ing with only a mere 20% at- tending half-heartedly. Some of the more promising paintings are now on display in the White Rock Library with parents urged to take advantage of this fine opportunity to view the resulis of the course Mr Brunelle plans to collect the completed paintings prior fo the series’ closing date on August 6 and after careful sel ection will submit a number in the competition for one of the prized awards. Mr. Brunelle feels White Rock children are blested in having such seenic views at thelr front door which lend themselves to ‘fhe artist's in- terpretations.
