Scouts Good Deed For
Memorial Park

For those who may not know the facts,

point out was why the area nad never received any ae

live up to its mame.

For nearly two years this’ newspaper has campaigned to
pave this small park improved or at least to have the Ae
‘femorial Park” which decorated a telephone polo in the
centre of the site, removed. While it remained in such a
prominent position it proclaimed to ail American visitors enter-
ing this country via the Great Northern, that Canadians were
most neglectful of even their memorial parks.

'A few weeks ago wo wero glad to announce that the sign
at last had teen taken down. We asked again if some local
group would not take on the job of beautifyng the small plot

Now the latest word that the Scouts are going to do their
good deed by planting flowers and that a very good citizen is
supplying the fertilizer and secds gives all White Rock well-
wishers a breath of hope for the future beautifyng of their
town.

The local Scouts, no doubt, are doing this as their national
conservation good turn for 1966.

We can only say, well<ione! And add that once more the
young have showed their elders the way in a vital matter of
community service.
