Mrs. Bruce, Mrs. Townsend and Miss B. Mar- tin were kept busy in the canteen. Members of the Dramatic Club are rehearsing for a short play to put on in the Hostess House the near future, and it is also to be shown at the Empress Hotel to members of the B.C. Drama Asso- ciation on Thursday, Oct. 3t, at 8 pam, be in Wednesday afternoon the Aux- iliary of the Air Forces met for their monthly meeting and tea, in the lounge. A beautiful layette of baby clothes was on display, and we are wondering who the lucky baby will be to get it. It was a glorious evening, with a full moon, for the weiner roast at Mrs. F. J. Baker’s. The woods surrounding the fireplace were gay with Chinese Janterns, and it was a merry gathering of about 50 men and women of the services, and their friends, who sat around the fire and sang songs, roasted weiners, und listened to the stories of B.C. Indian folk lore, told by Freeman King. Later, many of the guests returned to the Hostess House to dance, where Mrs. Ogil- vie and Miss Bates kindly kept the canteen open for hot coffee and tea. Friday evening Sgt. Priestly and Dave showed some excellent films before the dance. So be sure and come next week.
