If started now by sowing a few packets of per- ennial seeds in a spaded up plot, preferably in a partly shaded spot, your perennial border can be in full bloom next year. If you prefer, these seeds may be sown in small flats plac- ed in cold frames or on a shady border, watered with a fine hose, and shaded with newspapers until they begin to E, Sery over very lightly with fine soil, and see that the soil keeps moist until the seeds germin- ate.
