Colds and flu kept .some .confined to home...or. hospital and Mary Charlesworth of the Sick Visiting Committee reported she had made numerous visits and sent out cards as well as telephoning others in the area. The Branch will miss Mr. and Mrs. G. Outhwaite who are leaving for Eastern Canada shortly. Until recently, Mrs. Outhwaite was a regular at- tendant of Branch - meetings and took part in the social activities whenever possible. President Jack Rogers called for a minute’s silence in tribute to the memory of Edith Barsness who recently passed on. A new member Mrs, Lily Walker was welcomed, and sixteen members will celebrate birthdays in April, according to the Birthday Book. A motion to elect a com- mittee to meet with other senior citizen groups for the purpose of purchasing a new speaker system for the auditorium of the SCAC was carried by the mecting. Sick Visiting Convenor read a letter from Ann Spicer Co- ordinating Convenor for the Mt. Newton Hospital, an- nouncing that one day, May 12 of Hospitals Week will be an open house for senior citizens in which a series of: talks, information sessions * and question periods all relating to health care of the elderly will be held. A bus load of in- terested people is expected to attend this worthwhile project and more information will be available at the May meeting of the Branch. He still is as en- thusiastic as ever and lends his parents a willing hand during their weckend jousts in the Canoe Bay Sailing Club races. “It was a great experience for us all to go to sea with him when he was ‘at such a young age,’’ said Helen. ‘‘I’d recommend it to just about any parent.
