THURSDAY, FEB. 20, 1958 On The Home Front RECIPE OF THE WEEK ‘ Quick ’n’ Easy Lenten Supper Dishes With thhe coming of the Lenten season the homemaker's |thoughts turn to menu planning for meatless meals. A con- | venient package food that lends itself beautifully to combina- tions of Lenten food is pre-cooked rice. One of the quickest—and most delicious—supper dishes | that I know is salmon rice jumble. All you do is to prepare |packaged pre-cooked rice according to package instructions. While the rice is standing for five minutes, open a can of cream of mushroom soup, add % cup milk, 1 can of salmon drained and flaked, and a dash of salt and pepper, Then heat, stirring occasionally. When the mixtue is hot, the rice will be ready. Pour the sauce over the rice and serve immediately, garnished perhaps with a touch of parsley. With a quick dessert, a tossed salad WHITE ROCK SUN 3 and some hot rolls your supper menu is complete.
