troversial motion by a 4-3 vote May 19 which
enabled residents to kill dogs ‘‘running at
large and attacking or viciously pursuing a
person or domestic animal.’’

The motion to rescind was brought for-
ward by Ald. Jay Rangel who claimed the
initial motion was too easy to. misinterpret
and that in a community. with so many
domestic animals there: could be unfortunate
results.

Ald. Alan Cornford argued strenuously in
favor of retaining the motion to protect the
rights’ of the individual’ but mayor Eric
Sherwood countered that an individual is
