A. STARCK, Publisher and Business Manager W. D. KERFOOT, Editor and Advertising Why Not A Ferry Service? We have heard a lot this summer about the pier and breakwater. As regards tlie pier, which has been built for a number of years, no real use is being made of it except as a promenade and boat concession. Why is not more advantage taken of its possibilities? It is the foundation of a ferry service. We understand that the route would be shorter and more convenient. The recent excursion to Victo: makes one wonder why more of this kind of transportation could not be made available Here is an opportunity for a steamship company to institute & service that would be of benefit to both the company and White Rock. The pier may have to be strengthened some- what, There have been two suggestions regarding an overpass to the pier, both have their good points. It would lessen the danger of crossing the track. A breakwater would also be a great asset, and sur- Veys are to be made as to cost and location. Primarily it would be built for the benefit of the fishermen but other boat owners would no doubt take advantage of it} for they: would know that their boats would be protected from Storms. It might also provide another promenade over the water. Let us keep asking for these things, and perhaps we may see something along these lines\fulfuiled.
