Wednesday, April 7, 1976 By GRANIA LITWIN Internationally known! North Saanich artist Myfanwy Pavelic is holding her first show in seven years at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria. A dynamic, eye-catching display, it runs through April 25 and includes 39 works ranging in size from a few inches to several feet. An adroit and accomplished’ artist in the medium of pastels, oils, watercolors and charcoal sketches current show demonstrates her skill in the art of collage as well. An average woman might use kleenex tissues to take off her make-up or weep a tear or two. But Mrs. Pavelic is no or- dinary woman. With kleenex, construction paper and colored tissue strips she creates landscapes, por- traits, group studies, rocks, crevases and still life works. Last November Mrs. Pavelic, a youthfully attractive blond, received the highest recognition Canada can offer. She was elected to the ex- clusive Royal Canadian Academy of Arts (RCA) for her achievements in the visual arts field. The Royal Canadian Academy of Arts was founded in 1880 with the purpose of maintaining high standards in the fine and applied arts fields in Canada. It is the only national organization representing the major art disciplines of painting, sculpture, ar- chitecture, graphics, industrial design and cinematography; Its membership is at all times Myfanwy Pavelic’s - restricted to’ only 300 living Gallery until April 25. artists.
