Mention was made at the last Board of Trade meeting that Vancouver residents would bring their boats ‘down here, but lack of harbour facilities prevented them from doing so. It is to be regretted that there are no such facil- ities here, for that is one of the things that would add to the attractiveness of White Rock. We have a fine stretch of water and only an occasional fishing boat is to be seen, besides the dozen rowboats for hire, whereas there is plenty of room for even some good, yacht racing, which could ‘be seen in com fort from the Surrounding land. How much pleasanter it would be to see boats dotted here and there out on the bay. Harbour facilities therefore are one of the things to work for in the future. ‘The | Two Fine Servants The small fire Wednesday morning reminded us that we have two very good servants in fire and water, and are excellent in their proper spheres, but when out of control] are very destructive. So that in‘a way we have to use ond destructive element in order to fight another. White Rock has a pretty fair water system and good ‘use is made of it whenever aj fire occurs and good pressure, is supplied by the new force pump attached to the fire truck.
