Local fire chiefs say there are fire deaths every year
that could be prevented if an escape plan had been

thought out.

Another key safety goal for fire dep artments: a work-

ing smoke alarm in every home.

it. Contact your local fire department for advice on how
to get your alarm functioning properly.
