Pillar, auditor, stated he had audited the three accounts of the association, general, fire, and street lights, and found everything in order. He complimented the treasurer, William Peddle, for his business-like handling of the vari- ous funds. DRAINAGE The question of better drainage for Sidney had been taken up with the Public Works Department and Health Department and although various officials had appeared on the scene nothing had been done, apparently due to the lack of funds. Finally the matter had been drawn to the attention of Hon. Norman W. Whittaker, K.C., M.L.A. for Saanich in the local House. In view of the danger to public health during the winter it is believed the government will to it that at least some deeper tiled drains are put in at the most offending points. J.. G. Mitchell and the chairman were named. to see to it that at least some deeper discuss the matter further with Mr. Whittaker. GARBAGE AND GLASS A number of members expressed disgust at the practice of parties throwing their garbage and tin eans along the roads under cover of darkness. The matter of broken glass along Beacon Avenue, par- ticularly in the vicinity of the Post Office, was also commented on. It appears that joy-riding partakers of spirits like to toss the empties violently against the curb to hear the crash.
