The secretary advised that up to the time of the meeting he had not Teceived any communication from the Great Northern Railway in connection with the Flag Station between White Rock and Blaine, and the matter Was therefore left fn abeyance until the next meeting, President John Newton, also Mr. 'H. Foley, president of he Canadian Legion gave interesting information to the meeting as to what had taken place ata recent meeting held in the Canadian Legion hall at the in- stance of the Canadian Legion, when members of every organization in White Roek had been present, in connection with the strenuous ef- forts being made to obtain the ser- vices of a medical practitioner for this district. President Newton was appointed on the committee of five to bring the matter to a successful conclusion. The question of a municipal gar- bage collection being made on ‘the Stayte road in the area bounded by Pacific and Columbia streets was taken up and Councillor Frank ad- vised the association as to what would have to be done to obtain such service, and he promised to advise the secretary as to the exist- ing boundaries of the garbage col- ection, witha view to the ratepayers in the Stayte road area getting up hm petition, which had to contain 66 and 2-3 per cent of the taxpayers ‘in that district. The petition wilt be set in motion as soon as the secretary is in receipt of the neces- sary information from Councillor Frank.
